Love Thursday: Little Treasures, Organic Shapes

Sometimes happiness comes in really simple little packages - like the way something lovely can brighten up your day.  I'm sooooo drawn to the organic shapes of these little beauties, and I'm in awe of the incredible artistry and detail in the handmade pair (the leaves with the gorgeous green patina).  I impulsively collected these shells at the beach on Brigantine Island, NJ, although they are just part of a much wider collection that I've carried home over the years in sandy pockets and bags (including the stone paperweights on my desk that are from Rye Beach, NH).  It doesn't matter the time of year - a walk on the beach is always good, and always yields little treasures.

Oh my gosh, I just signed up on Gwyneth Paltrow's new lifestyle website, GOOP.com, and I was so excited I squeeled like a little apple!!!  She's going to send me recipes and favorite products and newsletters, and oh you know, all kinds of things about the pampered and genteel lifestyle.  Eeeeeeeee!!!  (That's probably how ScarJo felt when she received her first email from the Obama campaign.)  I mean, c'mon -- how can you NOT love a woman who rocks looks like these:     

 

and has legs like that at age 36 after having two kids???  Of course there are tons of women who have more substantial accomplishments, but when it comes to style, Gwyneth is my girl.
