38 Things for My 38th Year
1. Stay in touch with this joy and gratefulness, through sleep deprivation and newborn stresses
2. Drink some very good wine!
3. Take the baby on lots of walks
4. Save money for that bigger house we're going to move into
5. Take 4 months maternity leave (somehow)
6. Bake dulce de leche-filled chocolate cupcakes (salivate over the recipe here at By The Season)
7. Lose 35 pounds.
8. Run a 5K.
9. Make my own baby food.
10. Go on a babymoon (vacation with just the Rockstar, even if only for a weekend)
11. Practice my Japanese, so I can teach Babykins some.
12. Learn some Italian, so I can understand the Rockstar when he teaches Babykins some.
13. Paint or create at least one piece of art for Babykins' room.
14. Breastfeed for at least 6 months.
15. Take Babykins hiking (an easy hike, we'll be very careful!)
16. Research buying a vacation cabin.
17. Save money to buy a vacation cabin.
18. Save up for that surgery to get rid of my nasty, pregnancy-induced varicose vein.
19. Plant more flowers.
20. Work with a personal trainer at the gym.
21. Go to yoga.
22. Keep writing the blog.
23. Enter at least one photograph into at least one competition.
24. Make my own pasta (at least once).
25. Bake a tart (look at this list of tarts!!! Me, I'm learning towards the Comte cheese and leek tart.)
26. Climb a wall at Sport Rock.
27. Take Babykins to Denver and stay at Uncle Munky and Auntie Shanzie's house.
28. Keep a detailed baby journal.
29. Update the lovely scrap book that Annette started for me.
30. Plan a surprise for the Rockstar, for being such a sweet husband, and for all the work he's doing around the house to prepare for Babykins.
31. Read that American Academy of Pediatricians book so I know how to take care of Babykins (that probably should have been #1, right?)
32. Remember to snuggle Puppykins, my first "baby," and take him on lots of nice walks.
33. Get a massage.
34. Fit into size 8 clothing.
35. Go to the beach with my parents.
36. Go to the beach without my parents.
37. Learn Photoshop.
38. Eat some cheese!!!
