This Monday went much better than last Thursday. I wasn't cranky and irritable all day long, although I did feel a bit foggy in the middle of the day. I did better at sticking to the diet, but I still went over the calorie limit. Still, that's less than half of what I normally consume on a good day. I don't know if its enough to trigger the health benefits that mini-fasting supposedly confers, but its still a great exercise in discipline. And that's pretty much what this is boiling down to for me.
The weird thing? On Tuesday morning, I was UP three pounds from last week!!! I actually laughed out loud when I saw the scale. That's got to be water weight, because I know I've been eating well. I did skip the exercise last week, due partially to lack of time and being too tired during the week, and then my hip seized up on me over the weekend. If limping after a toddler counts as exercise, I did plenty of that!
On Monday, I ate the following:
Breakfast: 1/2 cup oatmeal with hot water, 1/3 cup blueberries, 1 Tbsp slivered almonds. Iced coffee with 2 tsps agave syrup.
Throughout the day: green tea, herb tea, flavored seltzer, decaf coffee with 2 tsps agave syrup.
Dinner: 5 oz grilled salmon with a teriyaki glaze, 1 cup sauteed zucchini, 1 cup sauteed brussels sprouts.
Total calories: about 750
